Error Code 11:
Error Code 11 is an error that comes about during the Alternator Harness Test.
To resolve the error code:
- First look for noticeable damage on the alternator harness. Ie; burned wires, terminals out of position, loss of contact at the clamps located under the red and black boots.
- Second – Use a Multimeter to verify the diodes are operational – Use the diode testing function of the Multimeter to test the diodes found on each side of the Main Alternator Harness. – Use the Diode Test Mode to test the diode. Connect the leads to the diode, one on each side of the diode. Measure Results. Reverse the leads on the diode, one on each side of the diode, measure results. The results should tell us one of three things, a good diode will read between .5 and .8 volts in one direction and OL (1.) the other, an opened diode will read OL (1.) each direction and a shorted diode will read 0v to .4v in each direction . (Diode Test Explanation) – If the diode is good, please call us at 1.800.242.6367 for assistance.
- If the diodes are open or shorted, please contact us to replace the harness.
- If the diodes are functional, please contact us for further instruction.
