THE AMFOR 897 COMPUTERIZED ALTERNATOR and STARTER TESTER is an increased sales and profit generator for retail and distribution. As a sales tool, it's used to test the customer's used alternator or starter. As a profit tool, it's used to test each new alternator or starter before it leaves the store to certify that it is in proper working order; this eliminates warranty returns.
The AMFOR 897 alternator and starter tester is a very sophisticated testing unit able to go beyond output voltage readings to read the on-board computer signals. Yet it is a snap for the counterman to learn to use.
There is an on-screen testing instruction guide with on-screen data entry access to a comprehensive on-board database. This database has the OEM parameters or all alternators and starters. Then a fixed-load is applied to test all internal circuitry. The test results in a simple PASS/FAIL read out that needs no operator interpretation. As a matter of fact, the AMFOR 897 is so visual, there's almost no reading required.
The AMFOR 897 is also Manager friendly. Managers can hook it up to a printer, get a screen-saver packager for store promotion, run built-in diagnostics – it's even network ready for updating one or more AMFOR 897 testers and retrieving data for warranty and test reports.
The AMFOR 897 alternator and starter tester is ordered with the test leads a customer requires for the local market, and includes mounting brackets for solid mount alternators and an on-board database. Databases are updated on a regular basis. All test leads use automotive wiring and OEM connectors.
AMFOR testers include a strong warranty with customized training offered. And our customer support group is available by phone and email to answer any questions.
